Cover options
Contents
Insures items you own in the property against theft, and damage resulting from fire, storm or flood.
Items are insured for replacement on a new for old basis, and include household utensils, crockery,
kitchen equipment and white goods.
Buildings
Insures your ‘buildings’ up to £1 million against damage caused by fire, theft, storm, subsidence, heave, landslip and flood.
Cover includes the structure of your home, walls, gates, fences, hedges, footpaths, outbuildings such as
garages and sheds, and permanent fixtures including kitchen units and bathroom cabinets.
Buildings excess
This is the contribution you pay towards the cost of any buildings claim.
If you choose to increase this amount it may reduce your premium.
This excess will be in addition to other policy excesses, please refer to the policy documentation for details.
The contents excess cannot be amended. This excess will be displayed on the next page and in the policy documentation.
Buildings accidental damage cover
This will cover your property in the event of an accident such as putting your foot through the ceiling whilst in the loft,
or banging a nail into the wall for a picture and accidentally hitting (and damaging) a pipe.
Contents cover amount
This will cover furniture, carpets, furnishings, household utensils, crockery, kitchen equipment, white goods, tv & radio aerials
owned by you and provided for use by your tenants. These will be replaced on a new for old basis.
The minimum contents cover available is £5,000.
A single article limit of £2,500 applies and you cannot insure personal items or
any items belonging to your tenants.
Contents accidental damage cover
This will cover your contents in the event they are damaged in an accident such as spilling paint on a carpet whilst decorating.
